Katie Peebles Smith was the oldest of the “7” children, In the photo to the right, she is approximately 16 years old. That photo was taken between 1942-1943 in Dania, Florida. It was taken at the Adirondack Trailer Park where the U.S. Army had Dudley staying while he worked on the airstrips at Naval Air Station, Fort Lauderdale. That Naval Air Station is now called the Fort Lauderdale International Airport and the Adirondack Trailer Park is still in Dania.

Kate would later go on the marry Charles Smith of Panama City, Florida. Charles & Kate had a son named Stephen, their only child. Stephen is shown in several of the photos here. Stephen died at a young age of 51 years. All three, Kate, Charles and Stephen are resting at the Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Panama City, Florida.
